Oh Boy Talk about being busy the past several weeks, but the house is looking better & better. It's
definitely looking a lot better & I've been able to get rid of some stuff that I never was able to while Grams was here. I still have the boxes upon
boxes in the shed to deal with along with most of the living room, but I have the master bathroom cleaned out, the kitchen dealt with......well except for the
pantry closet which is my next project. LOL However my house is starting to look proper again. However what with the rain we have been getting lately the
weeds are totally over grown & needs to be dealt with along with the mowing. LOL Still another project that will need my attention. Oye it's a never
ending job & it's compounded by the fact that my brain is doing a serious shut down on me & forcing me to get some sleep. Granted I need the
sleep, considering the total lack of it that I was getting, but still.......it makes it difficult to get everything else done. Gram's hospital bed is
still in the living room & as it looks will be staying there for awhile. In truth I am in no rush to deal with it & it's not like I have a house
full of visitors & require me to entertain them in the living room. Right now mom is about the only one that comes over & as long as we have a couch
to sit on while we watch the "So you Think You Can Dance" TV show that's all that matters. I have my TV room & right now I prefer to be in
there anyways. Eventually I'll deal with the rearraigning of the furniture in the living room & move the bed back into a bedroom............but right
now there is no major rush. Besides I am not about to move it into the master bedroom only to have to move it back out with in the next few months.
But it's not like I am worried. All of my projects will get finished.....well eventually. LOL
Right now I'm having the fun when I go shopping of trying to find lamp oil. Now you may think it strange (especially if your not famillar with oil lamps.) but I have a bunch of these oil lamps at the house that I can light up when the power goes out. Nice thing with them is unlike candles, I can light them up & adjust the wick so that it gives off this very soft glow & be able to keep them lit in another room all night long without me being in the same room and not worry about wax dripping everywhere or a fire being started. Plus what with the size of the lamp, I only need to refill the oil maybe every 2-3 days. (That's if I was to run them continually day in & day out.) All of my lamps have plenty of oil in them, but I only have one bottle of lamp oil available if they run out; which is why I am on the lookout for the lamp oil......I like to keep a couple of bottles on hand. So of course for the last several years, I've always bought the lamp oil at Walmart & they have ALWAYS kept it in the same area as the candles & floor/table lamps.......well because I'm wanting to buy some of the bottles of the oil, they are of course out. On top of it every store I've checked in....well they don't carry it. Oye. I still have a bunch more store to check out & I'm hoping that Walmart will get some more in; that they just happen to be sold out at the moment.
But other than that, there is not much really going on. The job market is sucky.........well they have a bunch of job openings for stuff that there is no way I am remotely qualified for. Naturally the jobs I am interested in have no openings yet. I applied with the school district on being a lunch room aide, but as school is out for the summer; so I won't hear a word on if they want me to work for a school until mid August at the earliest. IRS never did call me in for a seasonal clerk job, so I'm watching the list for when they have their permanent openings, but they usually don't post them until September/October. Working as a clerk/cashier/lunchroom aide is perfectly fine with me at this point. Just as long as it's not in a call center on the phones. That & being a CNA are the only 2 job professions that I will not ever go back to. My health & life is just WAAAAY more important. However they have this mega-plex movie theater that is slated to be built, maybe a half mile from my home, & I'm watching for when they do get built so I can apply there. Personally I think it would be a kick to work there in the daytime & still work the drive in at night.
LOL Okay yes I am when applying for jobs looking for ones where I can continue to remain at the drive in.
That's why if I can get on at the schools it would be perfect since I would be working there in the Fall, Winter & Spring with the Summer off & be able to work at the drive in during the Summer. Plus by working at the schools I might even be able to get my health & dental insurance back. Same with the IRS, I know that by getting on there I'll be able to not only make a very good wage as a clerk, but also be able to get my health & dental insurance back. So we will see........keeping my fingers crossed.
Every so often I stop at the animal shelters to see if they have a doggy that appeals to me, but so far nothing yet. They have some dogs; but they are ones that are on a size that is larger than what I am looking for. But I'm in no rush as I need to get some of my other projects finished up anyways.
I'm still doing the yoga & well last night I of course did a serious drool while watching Mr.
Yummy himself; Keanu Reeves. Damn that man is sexy! And yes I now have his latest movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" added to my DVD
collection.
Wednesday we have Transformers starting at the drive in & I am anxious to see it. Megatron died in the last movie; so I want to see how they explain how he comes back to life! It's gonna be a long movie. About 2 1/2 hours is the expect run time, so the intermissions & closing of the snack bar & box ofice are gonna take forever. Which is fine with me. Just makes for a longer hours. However it's the new Harry Potter movie due out next month that I am looking forward to. Unfortantly this year I've been sort of disappointed by the movies & have not gone up to see them as frequently as I did last year. Course the summer is just starting so that could change, but still I had gone to see the movies at the drive-in more frequently by the same time last year than I have this year.
But well........Grams was not in as bad of health as she was this year & my life was not in as much of a uproar last year; as it has been lately too.
However..............
*Termanator: Salvation........major sucky, as bad as Aliens 3 (Which blew MONKEY CHUNKS!)
*Land of the Lost, sorry Will Ferrel is not even remotely funny to me & where he ruined a favorite TV show I grew up watching......well it only cemented in the fact that I will never watch one of his movies.
*Eddie Murphy's new movie........bleech. He is a very funny actor, but lately his movies are MAJOR stinky.
*The Hangover..........I enjoy rauchiness up to a point, but that was well..........way to raunchy to be considered funny to me.
*Night at the Museum 2...........ehhhhh...Was okay, but not half as funny as the first one.
*Angels & Demons could have been better
*X-Men Orgins: Wolverine.......Was good, but the script writers & directors took a few liberties, that had they not taken them then the movie would have been even better. (Called watch the first 2 X-Men movies. In there after Wolverine came out of the tank he took a swipe at the tank with his claws, leaving marks & in this movie he never did. Plus the memories from the first two movies show him leaving in a different manner than by jumping out of a cavern/pipe & into the water below. Not to mention that from the first two movies that underground lab where the metal was bonded to him is in Canada; not the U.S.........Then well as much as I love having my Gambit in the movie, in the Marvel comic lore he is about the same age as Scott Summers & in this movie Gambit was definately older than Cyclops! The there is the whole putting Cyclops in the movie. Sorry but even in the comics, I just have never liked him, so he was one that I say they should have replaced with a completely different mutant. Lorna Dane aka Polaris for example or even Mimic, Wildchild, Angel, Cannonball, Rictor, Boomer, Shatterstar, Tempo, Warpath, Strong Guy, Random, QuickSilver, Scarlet Witch, Wildside.....as they had Penance in there (She was the young woman with the skin that was hard as a diamond. Then they could have easily had Synch in there who is a team mate/friend of hers. Evem the character Sienna Blaze, Black Tom, Domino, or Exodus would have been better than Cyclops.)
*The taking of Pelham 123........decent even if John Travolta can not play a decent psychotic terrorist. Sorry Mr. Travolta, your a good actor in the musical/comedy genre, but you just don't have a personality to do a good psychotic character. Health Ledger could do psycho's justice, but you can't.
*Monsters vs Aliens, Star Trek, and UP............Excellant!
I caught some of The Proposal tonight from my box office & it looked cute, but I'm not a big ROM-COM fan, so I may or may not go up to see it. But it does look to be a good movie.
Well I better log off. I have errands to run, letters to mail, a wedding reception to appear at.......then get ready for work. Plus I'm at the 2 minute warning on my alloted computer time here at the library.
With luck I can get back from the wedding reception in time to relax & watch a DVD before getting ready for work.
But it's not like I am worried. All of my projects will get finished.....well eventually. LOL
